Working Principle of Bone Crusher

Pet food bone crusher
The core working principle of the bone crusher is to crush bones into bone chunks, bone particles or bone powder through shearing, impact, extrusion and grinding force generated by high-speed rotating cutters, hammers or twin rollers.

1. Main Types & Working Principles

Shear Type Bone Crusher (Primary Crushing)

Structure: Motor, cutter shaft, fixed cutter & rotary cutter group, crushing chamber, screen mesh.

Working process:

  1. Bones fall into the crushing chamber from the feeding hopper.
  2. The high-speed rotating cutters cooperate with fixed cutters to generate strong shearing and splitting force to break large fresh bones or frozen bones.
  3. Crushed materials pass through the screen mesh and discharge up to the required size.

Application: Coarse crushing of large bones into medium pieces.

Hammer Mill Type Bone Crusher (Medium Fine Crushing)

Structure: Main shaft, movable hammer pieces, toothed lining plates, screen mesh.

Working process:

  1. Materials are impacted and beaten repeatedly by high-speed swinging hammers.
  2. Further crushed by collision and friction between materials and inner wall plates.
  3. Qualified fine materials are screened and discharged.

Application: General medium and fine bone crushing with high efficiency.

Grinding Type Bone Mill (Ultra-fine Processing)

Structure: Rotor & stator, multi-stage tooth rings, adjustable gap structure.

Working process:

  1. Bones are squeezed, sheared and finely ground in narrow gaps.
  2. Gradual fine processing from coarse to ultra-fine by adjusting the gap.

Application: Make bone paste, bone mud and superfine bone powder.

Twin Shaft Shredder (Heavy-Duty)

Structure: Two counter-rotating shafts, interlaced cutter discs.

Working process:

Realize powerful tearing, biting and extrusion through meshing cutters.

Application: Large-scale slaughterhouse bone processing and whole bone shredding.

2. General Working Flow

  1. Feeding: Manual feeding or conveyor automatic feeding
  2. Crushing: Complete shearing, impact and grinding
  3. Grading: Control particle size by screen mesh
  4. Discharging: Output finished bone chunks, particles or powder
  5. Power Drive: Motor and reduction transmission system

3. Key Equipment Features

  • Wear-resistant alloy cutter and hammer for high hardness and impact resistance
  • Adjustable crushing gap to control finished fineness
  • Food-grade stainless steel body, corrosion resistance and easy cleaning
  • Sealed structure to reduce noise and dust pollution
